Residents of Hideout:
The applicants for the Benloch annexation and the applicants for the Bloom In Hideout Development and rezone have recently withdrawn their applications. However, the Planning Commission still has before it two zoning proposals.
The first is to consider a nightly rental (short term rental) overlay zone and the other is to consider a new zone which would allow residential casitas. The staff reports will be available in the meeting materials for the July 20th Planning Commission meeting. These zones are not unique to any project and would be available town wide. Nevertheless, if there are restrictions in any HOA’s CCRs, the more limiting restriction would apply. Thus, if a Short Term Rental Overlay Zone passed, and if there was a petition to place the overlay zone in an area that included a subdivision whose CCR’s did not allow short term rentals, the HOA could enforce their CCR’s and not allow the nightly rentals.
The public is welcome to attend the Planning Commission meeting to discuss the Short-Term Rental Overlay Zone and new Residential Casita Zone on July 20th at 6:00 p.m.
Upon a positive recommendation from the Planning Commission, a subsequent meeting will be held by the Town Council on August 10th at 6:00 p.m.
