Applying for a Business License in the Town of Hideout
Home-based Business Licenses:
Welcome to the Town of Hideout’s business licensing page. We appreciate your interest in doing business within our community and are committed to supporting applicants throughout the licensing process If you wish to apply for a business license for your home-based business located within Hideout, please use the following Business License Application and submit it along with required supporting materials to Maria Devereux, mdevereux@hideoututah.gov for review and applicable payment.
- Please provide the following,
- A copy of your Utah State Department of Commerce certification. Verify your business name has been registered with the Utah Department of Commerce. All entities doing business in Utah under an assumed business name must register with the State of Utah, Department of Commerce. If you are using your own name as your business name it will not need to be registered.
- A copy of your State of Utah Sales Tax ID Number. All persons collecting sales tax in the Town of Hideout shall provide a copy of the sales tax number/certificate listing the Town of Hideout as the point of sale.
- Your Federal Employee Identification Number (EIN) or Federal Tax Identification Number.
- A copy of your Occupational or Professional License, if applicable.
- A copy of your Wasatch County Health Department approval, if applicable.
- A copy of your Wasatch Fire District approval, if applicable.
- A copy of your Utah Department of Motor Vehicle approval, if applicable.
- A copy of your Utah State Office of Licensing approval, if applicable. Contact the State Office of Licensing if you plan on opening a child care/day care center at your home.
Please refer to Hideout Municipal Code 4.06 for further information on home-based businesses.
Regarding Short-term Rental Licenses: Short-term rentals (Nightly Rentals) are only allowed in certain subdivisions within Hideout. All other subdivisions are prohibited.
Pursuant to Hideout Municipal Code 4.07.02, a properly licensed Property Management Company must be able to respond on-site within 30 minutes of a call or complaint.
- Each unit must have an annual inspection from the a) Wasatch Fire District and b) Wasatch County Health Department prior to the issuance of a business license. Please contact each entity to schedule these inspections.
- Complete and submit the Business License Application, and the inspection certificates to Maria Devereux at mdevereux@hideoututah.gov for review.
- Submit Payment. Application and Annual Regulatory Business License Fee – $193.00.

The business license fee may be paid by check or money order and made payable to The Town of Hideout.
