Rattlesnake Sighting – Overlook Village Subdivision

⚠️ Rattlesnake Sighting – Overlook Village Subdivision ⚠️
Please Use Caution While Outdoors

Dear Residents,

We want to inform you that a rattlesnake was recently spotted on the sidewalk in the Overlook Village subdivision. While sightings are rare, rattlesnakes are native to this area and may occasionally appear – especially during warmer months.

For your safety, please review the following precautions:

Stay Alert: Be aware of your surroundings when walking, especially near rocks, tall grass, or brush.

Keep Pets Leashed: Always keep pets on a leash and avoid letting them explore off-trail areas.

Do Not Approach or Agitate: If you see a rattlesnake, do not attempt to approach, handle, or harm it.

Back Away Slowly: Give the snake space to retreat. Most rattlesnakes will not strike unless they feel threatened.

Please also note:
Rattlesnakes are a protected species in Utah, and it is illegal to kill them. These snakes play a vital role in the local ecosystem by controlling rodent populations.

If bitten, seek emergency medical attention immediately and try to remain calm and still to slow the spread of venom.

We appreciate your vigilance in keeping our community safe and respectful of local wildlife.

Thank you,
Hideout Town Hall
