PUBLIC NOTICE OF ORDINANCE ADOPTION
PUBLIC NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that during its regular meeting of September 11, 2025, the Hideout Town Council adopted Ordinance 2025-O-11, amending the Town’s Wildland Urban Interface (WUI) Code.
The ordinance updated Table 603.2 of the WUI Code to strengthen defensible space requirements around residential and commercial structures. Specifically, the amendments:
• Prohibit combustible vegetation, plants, trees, and groundcover (including bark or mulch) within 5 to 10 feet of walls, eaves, and decks.
• Apply these restrictions to all new landscaping installations and any replacement or refreshing of existing vegetation or groundcover by property owners, builders, developers, contractors, occupants, or HOAs after September 29, 2025.
